Victoria Theatre Association (VTA) and the Arts Center Foundation (ACF) presented its 2011-2012 Community Report at today's annual meeting, held in the Mathile Theatre at the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center.

"The 2011-2012 season was a year of many successes and growth," says VTA/ACF Board of Trustees Chair Steve Miller. "President and CEO Ken Neufeld, along with his talented and dedicated staff and our remarkable corps of over 1,000 volunteers, led Victoria Theatre Association on a path that created over $33 million worth of economic impact in our region. The 2012-2013 season promises to include celebration, new growth and quality arts presentations."

The 2012-2013 Victoria Theatre Association and the Arts Center Foundation's Board of Trustees Officers are: Chair, Steve Miller (C.H. Dean Inc.); Vice Chair, Neil Freund (Freund, Freeze & Arnold); Treasurer, Ed Purvis (Emerson Climate Technologies, Inc.); and Secretary, Martha Shaker (Concept Rehabilitation). Newly elected trustees are Dr. Michael Ervin (Co-Chair Downtown Dayton Partnership, retired Chairman & CEO, Wright Health Associates); John Ey (Radiology Business Managers, Inc.); Larry Glickler (Partner, Bradford-Connelly & Glickler Funeral Home); Rosalie Mainous (Wright State University); and Mary Kaye Manchur (Community Volunteer).

The Net Operating Income, before depreciation, for The Combined operations of Victoria Theatre Association and the Arts Center Foundation for fiscal year ending June 30, 2012 is projected to be at $0.2 million on revenues of $19.6 million.  Total Revenues increased from prior year approximately 40 percent due mostly to an increase in the number of Broadway performances.

Based on a formula developed by the Americans for the Arts, the overall expenses for the 2011-2012 fiscal year of $19.4 million created an overall estimated $33,102,600 economic impact for the Dayton Metro area.

The impressive $33,102,600 sum represents the overall total dollars spent by VTA/ACF and its audiences, including event-related spending by arts audiences including but not limited to  ticket sales, restaurants, parking, merchandise sales and other expenses that revolve around attending and producing an arts event.

"I look back at the 2011-2012 season with a sense of great accomplishment," says Ken Neufeld, VTA/ACF President and CEO.  "Due to the hard work of our supporters, volunteers, sponsors, Board of Trustees and exemplary staff, Victoria Theatre Association and the Arts Center Foundation have been able to succeEd Strongly in what continues to be challenging economic times. We attracted new audiences to our landmark facilities and increased the number of partnerships we have with Miami Valley businesses and organizations. We also played a leadership role in the continuing revitalization of downtown Dayton. I am encouraged by what is ahead for 2012-2013. We have an excellent program of productions and attractions, a work force that is focused on budget realities and possesses the creativity to find better and more efficient ways to operate, and a Board of Trustees that is committed to excellence in governance."
