Human Race Theatre Opens AVENUE Q Tonight (6/6/2013) - Leave the kids at home and get ready for some ridiculous, riotous and downright raunchy puppet behavior as The Human Race Theatre Company presents Avenue Q, the 2004 triple Tony Award winner by Robert Lopez, Jeff Marx and Jeff Whitty. Presented in collaboration with the puppet masters at The Zoot Theatre Company, it's laugh-out-loud musical mayhem that's not for the little ones or the faint of heart. A spot-on (and unauthorized) send up of Sesame Street complete with puppets, songs and short videos, Avenue Q aims its racy brand of humor to today's 20-, 30- and 40-somethings.Director/choreographer Joe Deer sums up the show, 'Avenue Q is the answer to a delightfully simple question: What happens to the kids who were raised on Sesame Street when they grow up? Do those attitudes work in the 'real world'?'

The Human Race Theatre Announces the Lineup for the 2013 Festival of New Musicals (5/1/2013) - The Human Race Theatre Company's commitment to the creation of new works takes center stage with its summer Festival of New Musicals. Producing Artistic Director Kevin Moore has selected two works by artists familiar to Human Race audiences to headline the sixth annual event-The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes and Guarding Gold Street. The productions perform in The Loft Theatre over the course of the three-day festival, the culmination of a two-week-long workshop process in which writers get the chance to further develop their musicals with the help of professional actors, then see the shows performed in staged readings.

Human Race Theatre Extends AVENUE Q Through 6/29 (4/2/2013) - Due to strong advanced ticket sales, The Human Race Theatre Company is adding five evening performances to the original June 6 - 23 run of Avenue Q. The run of the show is now extended through Saturday, June 29.

No stranger to divisive topics or candid conversation, Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Mamet (American Buffalo, Glengarry Glen Ross) takes on the explosive subject of race relations. When two cynical lawyers-one black and one white-prepare to defend a powerful white businessman accused of raping a young black woman, they must confront their own perceptions and prejudices. Legal and ethical lines are crossed as shocking revelations come to light. But when their client's case takes a series of unexpected turns, they realize that not everyone is who they seem in this world of shame and guilt.

The Human Race Theatre Company Begins LOMBARDI Tonight (2/8/2013) - The legend of the gridiron comes to life on stage. 1965, and cub reporter Michael McCormick has been assigned to follow the Green Bay Packers' winning coach. Hoping to discover what makes Vince Lombardi so successful, he uncovers Lombardi the man-husband, father, bully and friend-full of passion and drive without equal. As McCormick explores Lombardi's relationships with his wife and players, he finds the coach to be a perfectionist whose every breath is football, and a source of inspiration with a few surprises of his own.
