HARRIS CENTER FOR THE ARTS will present two fabulous nights of music as the first two events of its 2023-2024 season: five-time Grammy Award winner Keb' Mo' and opening artist Scott Mulvahill on Thursday, September 14, and an unforgettable night of Mexican music and culture with Mariachi Herencia on Sunday, September 17. Both shows are at 7:30 pm.
Human Race Theatre Presents MY 80 YEAR-OLD BOYFRIEND
At one point in our youth, we all had to write one of those “Most Memorable Person I Have Ever Met” essays. It always described that one person who changed your life. Now, imagine taking that story and turning it into a musical. Well, that is exactly what Charissa Bertels did – with the help of some friends – when she created My 80-Year-Old Boyfriend- playing June 16 – July 3, 2022 in the Loft Theatre.

The Human Race embraces its mission of “exploring the human condition” in its 36th season by presenting themes of family, national security, dementia, creativity, race, and autism. Honoring its mission by “promoting enlightenment, inclusion and understanding,” the season includes two World Premieres (one play and one musical), a regional premiere, a Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning play, and the return of a favorite.

Playwright Elyzabeth Gregory Wilder freely admitted “the stories I find the most compelling are often stories that force me to step out of my comfort zone and look at a subject through a new lens.”
The Human Race Theatre Names New Artistic Director
The Human Race Theatre Company Board of Trustees, the Artistic Director Search Committee and Executive Director, Kappy Kilburn, announces the appointment of Emily N. Wells as The Human Race’s next Artistic Director. The Search Committee, comprised of artists, community leaders, Board members and Human Race staff voted unanimously to appoint Wells after a thorough nationwide search that began last summer.
